Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Swiss VPN collects, uses, shares, and protects user and device data. It applies to the Swiss VPN mobile app and related services.
1. Information We Collect
Depending on features you use, we may collect:
- Account data (only when an account is created or used): name, email address, login credentials, and account status. If you purchase on iOS without creating an account, account sign-up details are not required for that purchase. On Android, account sign-up and login are mandatory before purchasing a plan.
- Device data: device UID, platform, OS version, model, app version, and connectivity diagnostics.
- Service data: selected server region, connection/session metadata, and performance metrics required to operate VPN functionality.
- Public IP display data: the app may fetch your current public IPv4 from external IP-check endpoints to show your current IP on the home screen before and after VPN connection.
- Support data: messages and attachments you share when contacting support.
- Billing references: subscription identifiers, transaction references, and payment status from payment providers.
2. How We Use Information
We use data to:
- Create and secure user accounts.
- Provide VPN access and maintain service quality.
- Process subscriptions, renewals, and billing events.
- Display your current IP information in-app so you can verify the IP change between normal connection and VPN connection.
- Detect fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
- Respond to support requests and legal obligations.
3. Legal Basis and Transparency
We process data based on service necessity, legitimate interests in security and operations, compliance obligations, and consent where required by law.
4. Payment Processing
Payments are handled in a platform-specific way.
On iOS, you can purchase a subscription without creating an account; account sign-up is not mandatory for purchase.
On iOS, subscriptions are processed through Apple In-App Purchase.
On Android, account sign-up and login are mandatory before purchasing a plan.
On Android, payments are processed securely through Stripe, with Card payment, Google Pay, and TWINT where available for your region/configuration.
Swiss VPN does not store full raw card numbers or card CVC on its own servers.
5. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We may share limited data with:
- Infrastructure and hosting providers to operate the app.
- Payment partners to process purchases and subscriptions.
- Security, anti-fraud, and abuse-prevention services.
- Legal authorities when required by law.
We do not sell personal data.
6. Ads and Advertising
Swiss VPN does not show third-party ads inside the app. We do not use advertising SDKs for behavioral ad targeting in the customer app experience.
7. Permissions and Sensitive Access
Swiss VPN requests only permissions required for VPN operation, connectivity status, foreground service handling, and optional notifications. We do not request SMS or Call Log permissions.
Swiss VPN uses Android VpnService only for core VPN functionality to establish a secure device-level tunnel to our VPN endpoints after explicit user consent. We do not redirect or manipulate traffic from other apps for monetization purposes.
VPN tunnel traffic between your device and our VPN tunnel endpoint is encrypted in transit.
8. Data Retention and Security
Data is retained only as long as needed for service delivery, security monitoring, legal compliance, and dispute handling. We apply safeguards such as encryption in transit, restricted access controls, and operational monitoring.
9. Your Privacy Rights and Account Deletion
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of personal data.
You can also delete your account directly in the app: Settings > Account > Delete Account. When confirmed, Swiss VPN permanently removes your account and associated personal data from active systems, and remaining backup copies are removed through the normal secure backup retention cycle.
10. Children and Policy Updates
If app audience settings include children in future releases, we apply additional Google Play Families policy requirements. We may update this policy from time to time; continued use after updates means acceptance of the revised policy.
